Also, the person who started this thread is unavailable. Her internet is down right now and is awaiting for it to be fixed. Chinese New year isn't until Febraury, so we can relax a little. We've got time

Yay... If i dont have duty on that day im so going to be there... Plus if i dont get shipped out before that date as well though i shouldnt im more than interested in going... Another thing Seven Treasures does have awesome food... Every time i go to ChinaTown i have to eat there because it so tasty ^.^ This would be my first ChinaTown New Years though... So to do it with a bunch of Acen groupies would make it a blast xD

I go to China Town a lot, and 7 treasures is pretty good. I also recommend Pheonix, because that place has some really good dim sum. The problem with that is that it is kinda expensive. I'm pretty sure we could all get individual tabs though. There are some really good restaurants in that one place. The little street place near Walgreens has some really good restaurants. Joy Yee's I think it's called is really good in there. Moon Palace is also a really good restaurant. If anyone remembers, it's the one we went to during the photoshoot meet.

I believe that since Tsukareta suggested this meetup, we should let her make the final decisions. We can all suggest but make sure she the one that finalizes what we do. That's basically what we did at the Winter Meetup, so I hope that everyone will give her the respect that they gave me, though there wasn't too much respect cuz I was short and young >.< hahaha

I'd like to go to this, too, and probably will. Problem is, the earliest I could get there would be around noon. But I have people's cell phone numbers, so I should be fine.

Phoenix is actually the only restaurant I've eaten at in Chinatown, and it does serve very good food. I'm psyched to see more of the neighborhood :cool: !

Another place we can eat at is called, "The Noodle" It's off on one of the side streets. Good food at an affordable price. That'll be anouther good place to go to eat. And, it's just a block or so away from a little store that has poacky about $2 a box. Foxy bought some there for here party over last summer.

I don't want to pick a time or meeting place yet since it's so far away and I want to know which location would be best. I don't think that it would be a good idea to cram alot of people into a [probably already crowded] restaurant. And I want to pick a general meeting time well before the parade starts.

Like I said before, I'll let you guys know as soon as I have more info on this

The Chinatown website had put up a link for 2007's calendar... except that it was the wrong link >< So I emailed them, and they fixed it today!

This is what the description and information for the New Year parade:

"February 18th, 2007 (Sunday)

Chinese New Year Parade
1:00 p.m. Parade Step Off
On Wentworth from Cermak to 24th St.

Chinatown New Year Parade Celebrating the Lunar New Year, 'Year of the Boar, 4705' will include marching bands, floats, lion teams, a 100' Mystical Dragon, Miss Chinatown and Miss Friendship Ambassador. Please join us to welcome the New Year as we convey 'Gung Hay Fat Choi' to all in attendance."

Sometime in January, I'm going to Chinatown so I figure out how long it takes, for me at least, to get from the Union Station to there. Also, to check around and see which spot would be the best location as a meetup point. Though I could possibly fail since I've never been there during the Lunar New Year and yeah... But I'll try ;;

As for the restaurant reservation... I probably won't have a solid number of people attending since people aren't sure, and some people do arrive late [whether by accident or not], and I don't want to crowd a restaurant. I also figure it might be easier to split up since people might have their own choice in restaurant - it'll make it easy than to decide where we should all eat.

And as far as the time for us to meetup... Did you guys want to eat before or after the parade? If after, I was thinking of meeting up around 11:30 a.m. or 12 p.m.

Well, let me know what you guys think and whatnot.
