I agree, I don't know who looked more confused... the prom and wedding people who "went the wrong way" and ended up in the anime zones or the convention attendees trying to figure out which show the prom/wedding people were cosplaying as. It was sorta like... is he supposed to be Tuxedo Mask? Is she Sailor Moon? Wait, why are there suddenly 20 Tuxedo Masks? And where are their masks? Heh! And yeah, the prom people were pretty rude, and yeah, they were definitely outnumbered. Of course, I don't think it's ACen's fault if other parts of the hotel and convention area get booked by other parties (like the wedding people, who really weren't in the way except that one whole area suddenly had to be cordoned off for them). My bigger complaint was the mad security and safety people who wanted to clear the stairs and left everyone confused as to how to get up or down to other parts of the con... But that's neither here nor there at this point, and I think ACen 2007 is gonna rock!!!

I'm also anxious to know when pre-reg and hotel booking starts, but it *is* only October. I'm sure the ACen staff is working very hard and will get the info to us as soon as they can, right ACen staff? But yeah, I'd also like to get my arrangements taken care of as soon as I can. I thought the hotel room I had was really really nice and I'd like to be able to stay there again (the hotel, not necessarily the exact same room).

A note about the proms/wedding:

I remember that, what was even more hilarious is that those events were happening the SAME night as the Charity Ball for ACen ... and I was attending the event. Unfortunatly I had times where I had to be back at my room for certain times (Glomp Team Badges insert here) and so I'm running back and forth in my prom dress.
The guy herding the prom people tried shooing the otaku away from me cause he thought I was part of the prom and then the otaku thought I was part of the prom too untill I took my ACen badge out of my dress (yes from the top) and flashed it to everyone ... the prom herder looked confused while the otaku were clapping or nodding lol. It was all rather funny and confusing.

I agree, it's great for the hotel to have so many events, money and such, but I mean, too many BIG events at the same time is rather uhh ... hecktick for all involved.

That's a hilarious story, I love it!!!

Gotta say, those prom people were giving some nasty looks but it was really nice to have that feeling of "hey, those people doing their 'normal thing' are in the minority and all us weirdo's and geeks are just celebrating en masse and having a great time!" A great feeling of belonging! I wonder if some of those prom people were a bit scared.

My friends and I didn't really have any problem with the prom people. There was this lady there for some kinda anniversary thing that we ran into in the skybridge. For some reason she thought all the cosplayers were there for it too and asked the way to it. It was kinda awkward when we told her we had no idea what she's talking about and she was all :confused:. But anyways, if there are other things like that scheduled, it just makes for more interesting moments.

Man we have like 6 months of preparing for ACen... it is so exciting... But the thing is when will the hotels be open for reservations... I want to get a decent room this year for meself instead have to struggle and stick with a friend who already has a bunch of people crammed in there... So please send me a message or a reply on the page about the day it might be open for reservation please ^.^ ( if dont know please guestimate then xD)

I can't wait to get the rates and times for the hotels, cause this year I'm the one that likely has to make the reservations...and my friend is coming from maryland to attend, so obviously he can't do it. I got that scared feeling people get when they haven't done something b4.

I would rather like a more end of May con, but w/e..not my choice.

I hope this year they finally print the Con shirts on black shirts...I hate the white, I know it's cheaper or w/e , but so not anime-fan friendly...plus looks odd ...

and whenever pre-reg. dates are released will be a great thing to get finished with..so I don't have to worry about stuff.
