Thank you for your interest in the Fifteenth Anniversary of Anime Central!

Registration is now open! Please read below for answers to frequently asked questions and details regarding registration. Badges can also be purchased during all three days of the convention in person at our registration booths.

If you need to contact Anime Central about a badge question or concern, the quickest way to get a hold of our Registration Team is by e-mailing registration@acen.org.

However, most answers to badge questions can be answered below, or in the Registration section of our forums.

Registration at Convention Center Hours
Thursday: 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Registration in the Hyatt at Liberty
Thursday: 4:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Sunday: CLOSED

Will-call opens at the Hyatt Registration when the Convention Center Registration is closed. Badges can ONLY be purchased at the Hyatt Registration after the Convention Center Registration closes until 1am.

Anyone needing services from the Liberty room after it is closed will be directed to Registration in the Convention Center.

Hours for both areas of Registration are subject to change without notice. Doors close at the stated closing time, but we do finish the registrations for those in line.

Membership Pricing – Pre-Registration

Adult
August 15th – September 15th = $43
September 16th – December 15th = $48
December 16th – March 15th = $53
March 16th – April 15th = $60 Will Call Only!

Child
August 15th – March 15th = $10
March 16th – April 15th = $15 Will Call Only!
Child must be 12 or younger at the time of the convention

Toddler
Free (Maximum of 2 children per paying adult)
Toddler must be 0-5 yrs at the time of the convention

Shipping
Badges can be shipped for an additional $2 each. Badges must be purchased and payment received by March 15th and the mailing option selected to be eligible for shipping. All others will be available for pickup at a will call station at the convention. Mailing begins in January. We will announce in the Registration section of the forum along with our newsletter when all badges purchased before specific dates have been sent out.

Single Day Badges – Adult
Friday = $35

Single Day Badges – Child
There are no single day prices for children’s badges.
This year we are pleased to announce Childrens’ Day at ACen. On Sunday April 29th ONLY, all children 12 & under accompanied by an adult are FREE!!! Maximum of 2 children per paying adult.

Friday and Saturday badges can be purchased the day of or the day before their use. Sunday badges can only be purchased on Sunday.

At Convention payments accepted are

Check – Business only. We no longer accept personal checks at the convention.
Money Order

The following Badge Types are not available for online purchase:
Friday Only, Saturday Only, Sunday Only.

For specialty badges, such as Artist or Panelist badges, attendee should refer to those specific department policies.

For Artist Alley badge questions please contact ArtShow@acen.org.

For Panelist badge questions please contact panelprogramming@acen.org.
If you’re applying for a panel, do not pay for your badge yet. Panelists will be instructed on when they should pay if their panel is denied. You will not be refunded to get a complimentary badge.

How to register

Please click Sign up / Log in under the Register menu to get to the sign up page. If you created an account for 2011 please be sure to log in with the same account and review your profile for accuracy.

If you are a new user:
Create an account by clicking Sign up / Log in and clicking the Create New Account tab.
Username is the name you will use to log in to purchase your badge or print your receipt.
“Badge name” – this appears on your badge along with your full name. Many people choose to enter a nickname, the name of their favorite character, or their forum username. Your legal name will be printed elsewhere on the badge.
Badge names must be kept PG – and are subject to review.
Any badge name found to be offensive or against the spirit of the convention will be changed by registration staff.

Note that the email confirmation is NOT REQUIRED. It is only sent as a courtesy. As long as you know your username and password, you may immediately purchase a badge.

Once you have filled out the registration form, you will be taken to the Badge options screen. Alternatively, you can come back later and click Purchase Badge under the Register menu.

Users may only purchase a single badge per account. The badge type is automatically selected for you based on your age. If you are not seeing the correct badge type, please contact Registration so we can confirm your birth-date is correct on your profile.

Child and Toddler badges must have a separate account created – this is to gather contact information as well as track returning attendees in the future.

Toddler badges are limit 2 and require an Adult badge purchase first. Please purchase the adult badge, and then create/log in with the Toddler’s account and purchase a badge for them. You will need to enter the Adult account’s username at checkout for the Toddler badge. This allows us to know who is responsible for the Toddler in case you become separated while at the convention.

Groups

Groups Discount
This discount applies to online purchase of Full Weekend Adult badges only.
There is no group discount at the convention and it does not apply on top of any other discounts.
Groups will no longer be able to pay at the convention.

Group Size 10-19 – $2 discount
Group Size 20+ – $5 discount

Note:

Attendees purchasing a Child or Toddler badge CAN join a group, however they do not count towards the group discount.
Complimentary badges can NOT be part of a group due to the special processing required.

How to create/join/manage a group

Creating a group:
First you will need to be registered and logged in to the site (see above). Then, go to the Create Group page under Register > Create Group.
Fill out the Group Name and Group Key fields.
Group name will appear on your badge.
Group key is the passcode you’ll share with anyone who you are inviting to join your group. Other users will need to know your specific key to locate and join your group.
Click on Create Group to continue.

Note: The group admin(s) will have the ability to remove group members, however, should someone join who should not have.

Once you have a group started, provide the key to your group members and have them join the group using the instructions below. Everyone must create an account in the registration system before they can join a group – this helps maintain accurate records for badges.

Joining a group:

Go to http://www.acen.org/group/join and enter the key that was provided by the group creator.
Click FIND GROUP and it will display the group name.
If this is the correct group, then click JOIN GROUP at the bottom.
You can then view the other people in the group, and elect to remove yourself from the group if needed.

Leaving a group:

Click My Profile in the upper right of the page. Note you must be logged in to see this button.
Scroll to the bottom of your profile page and you will see the group you are currently in. Click the Leave Group link to remove yourself.
You can enter a reason for leaving (not required) and click REMOVE USER at the bottom to confirm.

NOTE: IF you are the only admin for the group, you will need to set someone else as an admin first.

To make another person an admin of your group:

Click My Profile in the upper right of the page. Note you must be logged in to see this button.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen to view your group and all of the members. Check the box for Admin for any of the members and click SAVE CHANGES.
You may now remove yourself from the group by clicking the Remove link in the member list.

To remove other members of your group:

Click My Profile in the upper right of the page. Note you must be logged in to see this button.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen to view your group and all of the members. Click the Remove link in the member list for the person you want to remove.
You can enter a reason for leaving (not required) and click REMOVE USER at the bottom to confirm.

Purchasing the group’s badges:

Important! If you are purchasing badges as a group, please make sure that ALL of your group members are added before checking out. Badges purchased individually will not qualify for the discount, and cannot be added to a group after checking out.

Child/Toddler badges can be added to a group, but will not count towards the group discount.

Complimentary badges such as panelists can NOT be part of a group.

Scroll to the bottom of the screen to view your group.
Click the Purchase Group Badges link.
You will see the list of the current members displayed
- Member name – their userid in the registration system.
- Badge name – as it is listed on their profile.
- Badge type – automatically selected based on their birth-date. If a user is showing the wrong badge type – they will need to contact Registration to correct their birth-date for security.
Click ADD TO CART to purchase the badges.
Fill out the payment fields. If you choose SHIPPING it will SHIP ALL the badges in your group. You must either ship them all, or have them all be at-con pickup. You can not split the shipping up within a group.

Policies

Convention policies, times, dates, etc are always subject to change.

ACen Badges, as well as additional badge options, are non-transferable and non-refundable; use of an ACen badge by any person other than the original holder is not allowed and will result in badge confiscation. Badges may not be duplicated in any fashion. The holder of a badge shall agree to surrender the badge to any MAPS officer or representative on request. When you purchase a badge for ACen you agree to the above terms.

All badge names are subject to staff approval. We are a family friendly convention and names deemed inappropriate by staff will be changed.

Anime Central does not accept responsibility for any lost mail and/or payments. So please do not send cash through the mail.
